Founded in January 1995, the Tokyo Photographic Art Museum is one of the few art museums in the world dedicated to photography and moving images. Its collection holds 39,135 works (as of April 2026).
Three exhibition galleries present around 15 exhibitions a year, ranging from thematic collection shows to special exhibitions featuring outstanding photography and moving images from Japan and abroad. The first-floor hall hosts screenings of high-quality moving images and exhibition-related events.

An exhibition featuring around 140 works by Daido Moriyama, curated by students from Nagatani Laboratory at Nara Women’s University. The online exhibition maps the locations where the photographs were taken onto a 3D city model.
